Schering Plough site up for sale

Bray: Schering Plough’s Co Wicklow site has just gone up for sale publicly, with €7.5 million sought.

The news emerged in the same week that the pharmaceutical giant, which last year merged with Merck, is to shed 160 jobs in its Brinny, Co Cork plant which currently employs over 500.

The closure of the Bray plant, which makes veterinary products, had already been signalled and 240 jobs are to be lost.
