Dublin: Ryanair set a new monthly record for passenger numbers in July due to what it said was a spate of ‘World Cup’ bookings. It said seven million passengers booked to travel for the month of July.
It is also the first time any European airline has 7m passengers booked to travel in a single month.
Ryanair said there was a rush of bookings every time a European team was knocked out of the World Cup.
