Location: Mogeely, Cork

Price: €160,000

Size: 102 sq m (1,100 sq ft)

Bedrooms: 3

MAYBE it is the white, marble pebble dash, but the exterior of No 30 The Meadows is shining bright, new-pin like — a bit like its interior.

The large three-bed semi-d with double-height rear bay and a front entry porch as well is in The Meadows, Mogeely, a 10 minute spin from Midleton in east Cork, and a 30 minute commute to Cork city.

The owners of the 2005-built home are clearly of the house-proud persuasion, and have finished the inside to showhouse standards, full of rich colours, and the back garden is equally worked on and well-kept.

There’s an en suite master bedroom to the back, with bay window, one of three first floor bedrooms here, there’s a floored attic with Veluxes to the back giving lots of options, and the main living room to the front downstairs is a good 14’ by 13’.

No 30 The Meadow is a walk-in job, affordably priced at €160,000 by selling agent Adrianna Hegarty of Hegarty Properties in Midleton who says it’s even better inside than the pristine exterior suggests.

VERDICT: Easy village living option in a walk-in condition home, in a cul de sac setting.

THIS is an above average starter home. No 10 Oaklands, Ballincollig has lots of wooden floors, two large living rooms, including a spacious kitchen/diner, and a fairytale garden shed.

Sherry FitzGerald are the selling agents, guiding €199k.

VERDICT: Close to the village and overlooking a green, this is a good starter buy.

CARRIGALINE, CORK €185,000

Sq m: 90 (980 sq ft)

Bedrooms: 3

BER rating: C3

Broadband: Yes

THE owners of 5, Firgrove Mews in the popular Heron’s Wood scheme in Cork’s Carrigaline have built a new house for themselves, hence the sale of this three-bed, walk-in job. The spotless end-terrace home at an affordable price has a west-facing back garden with decking, looks onto a green in front, has off-street parking, and has a front reception room with open fireplace, and a 17’ by 13’ kitchen/diner behind.

Agents Dooley and Howard see offers around €185,000 for No 5.

VERDICT: Good location, aspect, and condition.

BALLYVOLANE, CORK €205,000

Sq. m: 92 (1,000 sq ft)

Bedrooms: 3

BER rating: Pending

Broadband: Yes

A big, corner site opposite Dunnes Stores in Ballyvolane should bring 6 Ashgrove to the attention of those shopping for a good house package.

The dormer home, on the market with Frances O’Brien of Don Murphy Associates for €205,000, will suit those wanting inside and outside space, as it is highly extendable to the side, with good gardens, garage, outbuildings etc.

VERDICT: Although needing updating, there’s lots to recommend this, from its location, site size and detached status.
