A village centre to serve a rapidly-evolving Cork suburban setting with 1,000 homes now provided is proposed for Cork’s southside.

Developers Ruden Homes have planning for a multi-million euro complex, to include medical centre, pharmacy, convenience store and 6,000 sq ft creche at Manor Village, on the hills outside Wilton and Togher, close to Cork Airport and the south city ring road.

Ruden alone has delivered about 750 new homes at this setting in developments such as Manor Farm and Coolkelure, since the mid 2000s at Lehenaghbeg and Lehenaghmore, with the latest phases now visible from the Kinsale Road/Airport Hill. It was one of the few Munster residential site where activity continued through the recession, and developer John Deane says there is two to three years left to finish the entire site.

Now, he is seeking proposals and expressions of interest in Manor Village, to be built by the Manor Farm entrance, and says it will serve a catchment area of more than 1,000 homes, as well as the many businesses that are located close by on Mathew Hill, Forge Hill, and hinterland.

The two/three-storey Manor Village has scope for a 1,750 sq ft medical centre, a 1,500 sq ft pharmacy, a 1,800 sa ft convenience store, and a 6,000 sq ft creche, well-placed to serve the growing young population in the location, and there’s scope to invest, to purchase and to let.
