Looking up at one side on the ivy-covered ruins of Dromineer Castle and out across the calm waters of Lough Derg at the front, Castle House has the kind of views that modern planning permission makes hard to get.

“Properties on Lough Derg are special,” says Mr O’Connor, who says he’s been showing Castle House to buyers from Limerick and Tipperary and also to quite a few returning emigrants.
