D-day dawns for amendments to Single Farm Payment applications

Tomorrow is the deadline for any amendments to Single Farm Payment applications, with most late changes being subject to a 1% reduction for each working day up to and including June 9.

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney said amendments to SPS applications, including the addition of parcels/plots, may be made up to May 31, using the appropriate form. There is also a facility to withdraw land, reduce the claimed area of a parcel or change parcel use from eligible to ineligible (for example, the transfer of a house site), without penalty, after May 31.

“Farmers are free to use this option provided the farmer in question has not been notified of any irregularities concerning his/her application, nor notified of an on-the-spot inspection. The option is not available where either full or partial payment of SPS has issued,” Mr Coveney said.

Copies of the form are posted on www.agriculture.gov.ie
