Closing date for milk quota scheme

THE Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association has reminded farmers June 27 is the closing date for the milk quota appeals tribunal hardship scheme.

John O’Leary, deputy president, said the closing date was traditionally the end of the year but has been brought forward.

Farmers should get their applications in immediately, as late applications will not be considered.

Mr O’Leary said this excellent scheme has an impressive record in allocating milk quota to small and medium sized dairy producers, improving their viability.
