IRELAND

Gardaí investigating the shooting of an innocent young woman in a house in Cork city yesterday  have recovered a firearm.  The handgun was found this morning in undergrowth close the house in Hollyhill where Ciara Sheehan was shot in the neck in the early hours yesterday.

TECH: The British government has just given the BBC the go ahead to develop a subscription streaming service,  in this case in collaboration with ITV. It's thought it would be part of the existing BBC iPlayer framework, offering programmes after their initial free 30 day period for a monthly fee.
