Gardaí are investigating a number of sexual assaults in Shankill, Co Dublin, since December.  Gardaí at Shankill have said the alleged sexual assaults involve a man approaching women on their own in the area between 4.30pm and 10pm, and assaulting them.

A man in his 60s has died after the flight on which he was travelling diverted to Shannon Airport  this morning.

Revenge porn is to become a criminal offence carrying a penalty of up to two years  in prison in the North.

A garda yesterday claimed before the High Court when he was off duty, he was rugby tackled to the ground   by other gardaí, handcuffed, and arrested after querying the price of a taxi home.

LATEST... Councillor Danny Healy-Rae is to contest this year's General Election in Kerry.  Just minutes ahead of the nomination deadline at noon, the Independent county councillor representing Killarney submitted his papers to contest the poll on February 26.

LATEST... Fianna Fáil has committed to getting rid of Irish Water and scrapping water charges for five years,  which could cause a second election this year or a political crisis similar to Greece and Spain.
