Video shows lone woman fend off robbers at cash machine

Police in England have released CCTV footage of a woman fighting off two would-be robbers at a cash machine.

Camilla Rodwell, 51, was trying to withdraw money from the machine at the Barclays Bank in Market Hill, Sudbury, Suffolk, at 10.45am on December 22 when she was approached by two men.

One tried to push the £200 button while she was distracted but the victim fought back, Suffolk Police said.

A spokesman added: “The victim pushed him back before another man then approached her at the other side and tried to take the cash and bank card but was also fended off, before a member of the public then intervened and the men walked away in the direction of Station Road.”

The first man is described as around 5ft 4in tall, aged in his mid-20s, with short dark hair and wearing a shiny blue puffa jacket.

The second man is described as being around 5ft 8in tall, also with short dark hair and wearing a dark-coloured jacket.
