Two kidnapped journalists 'safe'

Two French journalists who were kidnapped in Afghanistan late last year are safe and well, according to a close aide of President Nicolas Sarkozy.

The reporter and cameraman, who were seized in December, are attached to French state television.

Three Afghan colleagues were also taken hostage by suspected Taliban militants.
