Two bailiffs and gunman killed in shooting at US courthouse

Update at 9.40pm:

Two bailiffs have been killed and a deputy sheriff wounded in a shooting at a courthouse in Michigan.

Buildings surrounding the court in Berrien County were put on lockdown following the attack.

The suspect has died following the shooting, amid reports that they were on their way to jail when they seized an official's gun and started opening fire.

Earlier:

Reports in the US say a police officer is among several people who have been shot outside a court in Michigan.

It is understood to have happened in the town of St Joseph.
