Twin suicide attacks kill up to 42 in Pakistan

The death toll from a twin suicide attack on a packed Islamic shrine in the Pakistani city of Lahore has risen to 42.

Up to 175 people have also been wounded.

So far there has been no immediate claim of responsibility, but Pakistan has been hit by a wave of attacks carried out by the Taliban and other al-Qaida-linked Islamist extremists in the last three years.
