Teen attacked by hyena in South African park

A teenager is in a serious condition after being attacked by a hyena as he slept in his tent in South Africa's world famous Kruger National Park.

The 15-year-old is reported to have been dragged out of the tenth by the animal and is said to have suffered a number of facial fractures.

He had been sleeping in compartment of the family tent when the attack occurred early yesterday.

He has been flown to hospital in Johannesburg where he is understood to have undergone surgery.
