Six people have been killed in a spate of tornadoes in Texas.

Dozens were injured after ten tornadoes tore through the US state overnight levelling homes and bringing down power lines.

As day broke, first responders were still searching for survivors in the north of the state, in particular in the small town of Granbury.

It is believed that seven people remain unaccounted for.
