Oprah Winfrey has ruled out any prospect of running for the US Presidency in a recent interview with In Style magazine.
There was a buzz around her standing for the role in the 2020 election following her inspirational speech at the Golden Globes earlier this month.
The talk show host has told In Style magazine it’s not something that interests her - saying she doesn’t "have the DNA for it".
The 63-year-old told In Style magazine that running for US presidency is not something that interests her.
"I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not. And so it’s not something that interests me.
"I don’t have the DNA for it," she said.
The TV host said explained that her reason for not using social media as an outlet to discuss her political views is because one hundred and forty characters "is not how you want to make your mark in the world."
"I try not to lean into the hysteria. I’ve heard a lot of Twitter chatter where people have said, ’Where are you? You should be speaking up on these things!’ But it makes no sense to speak when you cannot be heard," she said.
