One dead, 10 injured as car slams into outdoor German café

One person was killed and 10 others injured when a car slammed into an outdoor cafe in a town on the German/Swiss border, German police said.

Officers told the dpa news agency that the car's driver appeared to have braked too hard and gone into a skid, sliding into several tables at the cafe in Bad Saeckingen.

Police have said that in addition to the fatality, at least 10 people were injured, four of them seriously.

They said the crash appeared to have been caused by driver error.
