New app barters airplane seats among passengers

A new app will allow you to sell your much coveted window seat on a flight for cold hard cash.

Seateroo allows ticketed air travellers to swap seats with each other for an electronic payment.

So passengers enter their flight number and seat into the app, and other travellers can pay to get a better seat.

It is based on the theory that there will always be people who wish they had a better seat, and others who want to save money on their travel.

However, it is not entirely clear that airlines will allow what Seateroo is doing.

The app advises users to swap seats after they've boarded the flight using their issued boarding passes.
