'Multiple fatalities' after shooting spree in rural Ohio

Multiple fatalities have been reported after a series of shootings in rural Ohio.

Prosecutors said a dozen Bureau of Criminal Investigation agents were called to Pike County, in a predominantly rural Appalachian Mountain region 80 miles east of Cincinnati.

Spokesman Dan Tierney said Pike County sheriff's office requested state help in the response to the shootings.

Authorities said there are multiple crime scenes along the same road, but Mr Tierney had no information on whether a suspect was in custody. He also had no confirmation on the number of fatalities.
