The mother and step-father of an eight-year-old girl found hanged in her bedroom were today charged with child neglect, police England said.

Charlotte Avenall, who had severe learning difficulties, was discovered hanged in her bedroom in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, on the morning of September 12.

Her step-father Simon Moody (aged 32) and mother Susan Moody (aged 24), were interviewed under caution at the time of the youngster’s death.
