Microsoft confirm overhaul of Hotmail

One of the oldest names on the Internet is disappearing.

Microsoft has confirmed that it is rebranding Hotmail as Outlook as part of an overhaul.

The software giant has said that it wants to bring its webmail service up to date.

That includes handing social networking communications.

Hotmail has been around since 1996.
