Lion on the loose in Essex

Police in the UK are warning people in a part of Essex to stay inside after receiving reports of a lion running loose.

What was described as a large cat was seen in fields at around 7 o'clock this evening.

Police are working with experts from Colchester Zoo - which has said that all it's animals are accounted for.

Officers believe the reports are genuine after being shown a photograph.
