In Pictures: Winter wonderland after coldest night in UK since 2012

Large parts of the UK woke to snowy scenes after temperatures plummeted as low as minus 15.4C (4.3F) overnight.

While the picturesque scenes delighted some, the snow caused traffic disruptions and left many schools closed, particularly in the south.
