Holiday jet skids off runway in Glasgow

An airliner flying from Glasgow skidded off the runway on landing at Lanzarote today, officials said.

No injuries were reported following the incident involving a Air Europa Boeing 737, which left the runway near the end of the landing strip.

Spanish airport authority spokesman Alberto Martin Carvajal said everyone was evacuated safely but authorities closed the airport on the holiday island.

The plane was carrying 74 passengers and crew members.
