Police said 47 people were injured in clashes in Hamburg following a street festival that has become a flashpoint for violence involving left-wing activists. Another 47 were detained.
The clashes in the early hours of today followed violence the previous night after a demonstration against a far-right march.
Senior police officer Peter Born said a group of about 200 people threw stones at a police station. Others raided a computer shop and threw stones at people on a nearby road. Six cars were set alight.
Mr Born said 28 police officers were among those injured.
The northern German port city regularly sees clashes between police and members of its alternative left-wing scene.
