Florida pastor abandons plans to burn Koran

A Florida pastor said today that will not now proceed with plans to burn copies of the Koran on tomorrow's anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.

Terry Jones has told a breakfast news channel in the US that "right now we have plans not to burn the holy books".

Thousands of angry Muslims have taken to the streets across Afghanistan in protest at the plans.

One protester hass been shot dead outside a NATO base.
