Five found dead in US house

Five people have been found dead in a home in north-west Maryland in the US, police said tonight.

The Frederick County sheriff’s office said in a news release that a family member found the bodies about 9am (12pm Irish Time) this morning.

The sheriff’s office said the victims are believed to be family members.

The release did not give any more details and a sheriff’s office spokeswoman did not immediately return a telephone message.

Investigators were at the home and authorities planned a news conference this afternoon.
