Eight killed in US missile attack

Eight suspected militants have been killed in an American missile attack on Pakistan’s north-west frontier, intelligence officials said today.

Four US missiles hit a house today in Datta Khel in North Waziristan tribal region, the Pakistan officials said.

Datta Khel has been the focus of several attacks on Taliban, al Qaida and their local supporters who are accused of targeting Nato and US forces in Afghanistan.

Over the past five weeks, the US has launched at least 22 missile strikes in Pakistani territory.

The Pakistani Taliban, meanwhile, claimed responsibility for an attack on Nato oil tankers in Pakistan’s south, saying they were avenging the killing of three Pakistani border guards by Nato helicopters.
