A disgruntled construction company worker in Egypt opened fire on his colleagues, killing six and injuring 16 others, a security official said today.
He said the gunman, a bus driver, pulled over the company bus in western Cairo, whipped out an assault rifle and showered his passengers with bullets.
According to the official, the gunman appeared to have suffered severe depression after his company, Arab Contractors, transferred him to a new position.
Arab Contractors is one of the largest construction companies in Egypt. The company declined to comment on the incident.
