Dozens trapped after coal mine explosion in Iran

Dozens of people have been trapped in a coal mine following an explosion in the north of Iran, according to state media reports.

The IRNA news agency attributes the figure of 40 to 50 people to Golestan provincial emergency management department head Sadeq Ali Moghadam.

Ambulances, helicopters and other rescue teams have been deployed to the mine in Azadshahr.
