Demonstrators set fire to Danish and Norwegian embassies

Thousands of outraged Syrian demonstrators stormed the Danish and Norwegian embassies in Damascus today, setting fire to both buildings in protest at offensive caricatures of Islam’s prophet.

Police fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse demonstrators who had move on to the Norwegian Embassy after setting fire to the Danish Embassy.

But the protesters broke through police barriers and set fire to the building, shouting “Allahu Akbar,” or God is great.
