More than 200 people have been killed in a major earthquake in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Over a thousand people have been injured in the quake, which measured 7.5 on the Richter scale.
Jim Clerkin, Chief Executive of Oxfam Ireland, says the worst affected areas are remote and mountainous.
"The quake seems to have struck Pakistan up in the north-east of Afghanistan that seems to be the epicentre, tremors were felt as far away as New Delhi and Kabul which is 250km from there so quite a severe quake.
"It's very difficult to establish the exact damage as of yet because the area is quite mountainous, quite remote and notoriously difficult to navigate."
