Coulson charged with perjury

David Cameron’s former communications chief Andy Coulson has been arrested and charged with perjury.

The former News of the World editor was detained for questioning at Govan police station in Glasgow earlier today by officers from Strathclyde Police.

The force said that a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal which will decide whether Mr Coulson is to face court proceedings.
