China: Hit-and-run worker kills nine after stabbing colleague

A disgruntled employee in northern China killed nine people and injured 11 others in a hit-and-run crash while fleeing after stabbing a co-worker, local government officials said today.

A spokesman for the Tianjin government office said the 40-year-old man, named Zhang, fled after arguing with his colleague and then stabbing him with a knife at the Tianbao Transportation Co in the port city.

The official Xinhua News Agency reported that, in trying to escape, Zhang drove away in a bus which ploughed into pedestrians, cars and cyclists, killing nine people and severely injuring 11, including four policemen who attempted to stop his vehicle.
