Burma's de facto leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, is suffering from weakness and exhaustion after two weeks of travel to Britain and the United States.
The 71-year-old's health is stable and nothing to be worried about but "she needs to rest", according to her office.
"She suffers a gastric problem as she didn't have meals regularly during the trip, and suffers arthritis in her neck from using the computer often," a statement said.
Ms Suu Kyi arrived back in the country on Sunday evening, but was not able to greet supporters waiting outside the airport.
An official from the Ministry of Information said a scheduled meeting between Ms Suu Kyi and businessmen in Burma on Wednesday had been postponed, without giving further explanation.
