A suspected suicide bomb attack on a polio vaccination centre in south-west Pakistan has killed 14 people.
Local police chief Syed Imtiaz Shah said today’s bombing at the centre in Quetta killed 12 police, a soldier and a civilian. Another 23 people were wounded.
Police said the attack appeared to be a suicide bombing.
The bomb exploded outside the polio centre shortly before vaccination teams were due to be sent to neighbourhoods in a three-day immunisation campaign.
Polio workers in Pakistan have been the victims of several terrorist attacks in recent years.
