Bashar al-Assad makes television appearance with message to terrorists

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has appeared on television for the first time in two weeks.

It comes a day after his prime minister defected to the rebel opposition.

The broadcast on Syrian TV appears to show Assad meeting Iran's security chief - where he said that he will 'purge the country of terrorists.'
