Band members killed by rival musician after money row

Three band members have been shot dead in their New York apartment by a musician from another group in a row over money.

Their killer shot them all at their home In Brooklyn then killed himself.

Police initially believed that the shooter was a former member of the band.

The manager of the Iranian indie group The Yellow Dogs said two of its members were killed, along with another musician who lived with them but was not in the band.

Martin Greenman, 63, who works nearby, said he often saw the band members coming and going with their instruments.

“They seemed really nice, not violent or anything, just your typical guys,” he said. “They never caused any trouble. I see them almost every day, it’s really a shock.”

The Yellow Dogs played recent gigs in the New York indie rock scene at venues like the Knitting Factory and Brooklyn Bowl.
