Attempts to form caretaker government in Greece

Greece's political leaders will meet the country's president Karolos Papoulias today as he tries to put together a caretaker government.

Voters are expected to go to the polls once again next month, after talks to try and form a coalition came to an end yesterday.

The uncertainty surrounding Greece's political situation, and their future in the eurozone, prompted investor concerns that brought the euro to a four month low.

All eyes were also on yesterday's meeting between the German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the new 'pro-growth' French President Francois Hollande.
