ANC party still holding power in South Africa

Final results from South Africa's elections give the long-dominant ANC party a clear victory, but not the two-thirds majority it hoped for.

Results released today show the African National Congress with 65.9% of the nearly 18 million votes cast.

The party's victory was never in doubt, but it was unclear if it would retain its two-thirds majority in the 400-member parliament.
