10 held in French terrorism raids

Ten people suspected of ties to radical Islamist websites have been arrested in raids across France.

It’s the second time in several days that police have conducted sweeps. They come after a killing spree in south-western France by a young French Muslim radical.

But an official close to the investigation said the latest arrests were not connected to the Toulouse killings or to the members of a banned group arrested last week.

The official said the 10 are suspected of links to Islamist websites and of threatening violence in online forums. Some of them may have been trying to attend jihadist training camps along the Afghan-Pakistan border.
