The Democrats made an egregious and probably fatal blunder in impeaching president Donald Trump.
Three years of trying to remove the duly elected president, firstly with the shambolic Mueller investigation and then the tenuous Ukraine phone call, has, as any detached observer could see, resulted in the total acquittal of Trump, strengthened his base, swayed neutrals towards his corner, and exhausted the opposition.
When they should have been advocating for serious change and meaningful legislation, and planning to defeat Trump at the ballot box, instead they allowed a rump of vainglorious attention seekers led by Schiff and Nadler to attempt to grab the limelight for their own career advancement.
Meantime, in the teeth of such relentless assault, Trump has absorbed the pressure, continued to improve international relations with Russia and China, and has even staved off a confrontation in the Middle East by firing warmongers like John Bolton.
The American public can see through the double standards of the chaotic and shrill Democrats, who have lost all sense of perspective since the era of their last two competent statesmen, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.
