Some ‘bio-time’ experts have been ‘clocking in’ this week with seriously sobering salience regarding our natural biorhythmic responses to daylight quotients and seasonal variations.
They seem to offer coherent and convincing ‘evidence’ of ‘time-borne’ efficacies which carry not only plausible, but firm, factual import.
Resistance to such worthy appraisal and concluding propositions that we need to abolish daylight saving time, stay on standard time and stop ignoring our body-clocks will no doubt be sturdy and defiant, albeit grounded in wanton self-interests, rather than the wider collective health and wellbeing benefits.
While the human species is remarkably adaptable within its evolutionary trajectory, there are certain core fundamentals (eg, melatonin modulation) which likely take a millennium or ten to shift and accommodate.
Time remains forever an elusive imponderable,irrespective of contrived human calibration templates.
But, daylight is always both a visible and physical energy event, which automatically stimulates and moderates our sensory-soma, whether we want it to or not. We are all susceptible bar none.
It’s high time we re-aligned our ‘tick’ with our ‘tock’. otherwise our ‘tickers’ will ‘tocker’ and we’ll have to ‘hickory, dickory dock’. The ‘mouse’ in our midst will continue rule the roost.
