Woods joins Malaysia field

Tiger Woods is to play the CIMB Classic in Malaysia on October 25-28.

He will be part of a 48-strong field – 30 from the PGA Tour, 10 from the Asian Tour and eight sponsor’s exemptions – in a £3.9million event that clashes with the European Tour’s £4.5million BMW Masters in Shanghai. Rory McIlroy won that last year.

The pair are due to be together for a match play tournament in Turkey earlier the same month and at the HSBC Champions at Mission Hills in China on November 1-4.
