Watch the dramatic finish to yesterday’s Ashbourne Cup Final
Eimear Kelly and Aisling McCarthy of UL celebrate after their win.

There was an incredible finish to the 2016 Ashbourne Cup Final, played in Gort on Sunday between UCC and UL.

There were seven goals and late drama before UL, beaten finalists last year, lifted the trophy for the sixth time.

UCC looked like they were going to win the day when they turned around a six-point deficit to lead by a point going into the final moments of the game.

But the momentum had swung between the two teams throughout the game and so it went at the finish too - with Sarah Fryday hitting the back of the net in injury time to complete a hat-trick for herself and claim the cup for UL.
