WATCH: Messi and bubble toys combine for most cringeworthy ad ever

We are used to seeing sports stars embarrass themselves while trying to flog us everything from whiskey to currency transfers.

Despite already being millionaires, these lads seem happy to leave their dignity at the door for the sake of a few extra bob.

This new effort from Lionel Messi is a prime example of the genre.

In it the Argentinian superstar, current net worth USD$74m according to Forbes, demonstrates a new game aimed at football-loving children.

It involves putting on special ‘Messi-socks’ and playing keepy-uppies with bubbles of the type generally blown to amuse toddlers.

Seriously Leo, was the tax bill that big?
