WATCH: Martin O’Neill destroys Rio Ferdinand live on tv

Rio Ferdinand was left giggling sheepishly when Martin O’Neill tore his analysis apart live on television last night.

The Ireland manager joined Ferdinand on BT Sport to watch Leicester open their Champions League campaign against Club Brugge.

Ferdinand was discussing the job midfielders need to do to protect their defence, but O’Neill was having none of it.

He ripped into the former Manchester United player with his customary wit, saying: “Analysed like a true centre-half!”

”You are murdering the midfield players,” he continued. “Centre halves, I love it when a goal is scored, they never worry about closing them down themselves, it is the midfielders to be blamed.

“No wonder the midfielder has a heart attack at half-time, he's done so much running.

“Centre halves, I love it, I really love it. They have an incredible ability to blame someone else for a goal.”

You tell ‘em Martin!
