WATCH: Irish football fans feature in UEFA’s thank you to supporters

Tearful hugs and pounding drums - it’s been an emotional few weeks at the European Championships.

And at the heart of it all are the fans- travelling en masse in support of their national teams.

UEFA know this, so with only days left before the grand final they have issued a thank you to supporters of all the teams involved in the tournament.

And of course Irish fans feature, both the green and white army and the followers of the boys in green.

The emotional embrace between Robbie Brady and his brother after the goal against Italy will bring a lump to the throat of Republic of Ireland fans.

And ‘Will Grigg’s on Fire’, one of the songs of the summer, gets a deserved airing at the end.

Great stuff from both sets of the supporters from the island - no wonder the French decided to give us a medal.
