Watch a man try to put out the Olympic flame - with a fire extinguisher

The Olympic torch came under attack this week - by a man armed with a fire extinguisher.

The Olympic flame is currently touring Brazil en route to the opening ceremony in Rio de Janeiro and the incident occurred in the city of Joinville.

Video from Gols HD.

The man ran up to a torch relay ceremony on Wednesday night and attempted to extinguish the flame with a strong blast from the extinguisher.

The man was quickly restrained by security guards and the Olympic flame remained lit.

The hosting of the Games is a source of controversy in Brazil and this is not the first such incident. Last month a man attempted to douse the flame with a bucket of cold water in Maracaju.
