Everton striker James Vaughan is on the verge of a three-month loan move to Crystal Palace.
Eagles boss George Burley has been in discussions with his Toffees counterpart David Moyes and it hoped a deal for the 22-year-old can be agreed in time for Reading’s visit to Selhurst Park this weekend.
Vaughan became Everton’s youngest ever first-team player when he came on as a substitute against Palace on April 10, 2005, aged 16 years and 271 days.
Goodison Park starlet Jose Baxter (16 years and 191 days) beat Vaughan’s record when appeared against Blackburn in August 2008.
Injuries have hindered Vaughan’s Everton career and his nine goals for the club have come across 11 starts and 48 substitute appearances.
Last season he spent time on loan at Derby and Leicester.
